Odin - The Father of all Gods and Men. He sacraficed an eye at the well of Mimir to gain inner wisdom, and hung himself on the World Tree Yggdrasil to gain the knowledge and power of the Runes. He is a God of Magic, Wisdom and Wit. Member of the Aesir race.

Freya - Goddess of Love and Beauty. She and her twin brother, Freyr, are of the second race of Gods know as the Vanir. Freya is also a great warrior and Queen of the Valkyries. When a great battle takes place, she has 'first pick' over the fallen to take to Valhalla. Bears the necklace, Brisingamen.
Freyr - God of Fertility and Sucess, as well as the King of Elves. At Ragnarok he is said to fight with the horn of an elk rather than a sword. Member of the Vanir race.

Loki - God of tricks and deceit. While he constantly challenges the rulings of the Gods, it is necessary to bring about change. Loki is an Ettin (elemental) and has control over Fire. While he has gotten the Gods out of some predicaments, he has also spawned the worst creatures to ever walk on the face of Midgard: Fenris the Wolf and Jormurgandr the Midgard Wyrm. His other children include the Goddess Hel, and Sleipnir, Odin's 8-legged horse.
Heimdall - The guardian of the rainbow bridge to Asgard, the home of the Aesir. Heimdall is who is to sound the signal horn to the Aesir that Ragnarok, the great destruction is beginning. Member of the Vanir race.
Skadi - She is the Goddess of Winter and of the Hunt. Also, she is the goddess of Vengeance, and Righteous Anger, and is the deity who delivers the sentence upon Loki to be bound underground with a serpent dripping poison upon his face in payment for his crimes.
Frigga - Odin's wife, Mother of all and the protector of all Children. She spins the sacred Distaff of life, and is said to know the future, although she will not speak of it.
The Norns - Urd, Verdande, and Skuld are the Norse equivalent of the greek Fates. It is they who determine the destinies of the Gods and of Man, and who maintain the World Tree, Yggdrasil.
Hel - Goddess of the Afterlife and the Dead (that dont go to Valhalla). She is often portrayed as being half-alive, half-dead. Daughter of Loki.
Baldur - Son of Odin, and God of Light and Love. He is sacrificed at Midsummer, and reborn at Yule. He is slain by his blind brother, Hodur, who was guided by Loki.
Bragi - The bard of the Gods and muse of Poetry.

| Any reason you chose the Norse gods? Other than the fact that the Norse were reputed to be heavy seagoers? |

| I just happen to have a bigger interest in the Norse Gods, as opposed to Greek like it started as. The 9 realms of the Gods also gives me a HECK of a lot more room to work with, Aside from OceanMARE, the (tenative) title for any stories that come out of this is "The Oceans of Midgard" but, We dont really need to stay in that realm. |

If a God was to be perfect would it not seek to to eliminate itself? The only true perfection is no thing, No matter, no antimatter, no being. As long as there is existence there can be no perfection. So would not Gods reputed to be perfect actually be seeking an end to existence?
If that would be true then their nemisis would seek the opposite? To keep existence. |

| Two goldfish in a fishbowl discussing the existence of God; one goldfish to the other: "If god does not exist, who changes the water?" |
